How Much Does Junk Removal Cost in Cincinnati? A Real 2026 Breakdown

July 24, 2026 :: 9:55 am

Most people asking this question aren’t shopping around for fun. You’ve got a garage you’ve avoided for two years, a parent’s condo that needs clearing, or a couch that four people couldn’t get down the basement stairs. You want a number before you pick up the phone. Fair enough.

So here’s the honest version. We’re Haulaway Pro, a locally owned and operated junk removal team based right here in Cincinnati, and our pricing is volume-based. Clear upfront pricing, a free no-obligation estimate, and we’re going to be honest with you from start to finish. Below is exactly what we charge, what each price actually fills, and why a single number is hard to give over a search bar.

Our 2026 Junk Removal Prices in Cincinnati

We charge by how much room your stuff takes up in the truck, not by weight and not by the hour. Our truck is an 18-yard box (about 30% bigger than what the national chains roll up in), and it divides into eighths so we can picture your load before we ever quote it.

  • Minimum charge: $135 – one item. A love seat, a dresser, even a mini fridge.
  • Quarter truck: $345 – the average job. Most Cincinnati customers land right here.
  • Half truck: $495
  • Full truck: $695 – a whole one-bedroom apartment’s worth, one visit.

One thing worth knowing: the truck gets cheaper per foot as it fills. The first half runs about $500, and filling the rest is only about $200 more. That’s why the full truck is the best value in the lineup, not the biggest upsell.

What $695 Actually Fills: A Real Cincinnati Cleanout

Numbers on a screen don’t mean much until you can picture them, so here’s how our owner Cody describes a full truck. Think a whole one-bedroom apartment cleanout: a bedroom suite, a couple of couches plus a coffee table, a hutch, a four-person dining table, three or four closets of clothing, the storage closets, and the kitchen cabinets. All of that, one visit, $695.

Scale it down and it clicks fast. A quarter truck at $345 is roughly two full eight-foot pickup-bed loads, which is where most homeowners in Oakley, Norwood, or Loveland end up. A single item that you just can’t lift or fit in your car? That’s the $135 minimum. “That’s how we determine it, it’s visual,” is how Cody puts it, and honestly that’s how customers think about it too.

What Changes the Price (and What Doesn’t)

The big driver is volume, plain and simple. More stuff, bigger tier. But a lot of what other haulers tack on, we don’t.

No fee-stacking. We don’t charge extra for stairs, for a basement carry, for Freon recovery on a fridge or freezer, for a third crew member, or for mattresses. Heavy-but-normal-size items cost the same as light ones because it’s about space, not sweat. Unlike the national chains that pile on surcharges, the tier you’re quoted is the tier you pay.

The few real exceptions. A handful of items carry their own pricing because they genuinely need extra crew, equipment, or disposal handling: pianos, hot tubs, wet paint, and tires. Every one of those is different, so we quote them on site after a free look, never blind over the phone. You’ll get a real number before anyone touches a thing.

Donation and recycling. This one doesn’t raise your price, but it’s why people book us. We work to donate and recycle as much as we can through partners like New Life Furniture Bank, Goodwill, and Habitat for Humanity. Your old dining set gets a second life instead of a landfill trip.

How We Quote a Job

For most jobs we walk the property with you, free and with no obligation, and tell you which tier you’re looking at before we start. We watch for keepsakes along the way (photo albums, wedding dresses, tax forms turn up more than you’d think) and set them aside. No prep, no stickering, no sorting on your end. The team already knows what’s donatable.

Our estimate is honored, too. If we quote five trucks and it runs five and a half, that half is on us. If the job comes in smaller than we thought, you pay less. That’s the whole no-surprises promise, and it’s the same reason we don’t stack fees.

Two Honest Ways to Keep the Bill Down

This isn’t a discount pitch. It’s just how the math works.

  1. Know what you want gone before we arrive. A decided list prices cleanly and loads fast. “Oh, maybe this too” is what bumps a job up a tier.
  2. Do it in one bigger load, not several small ones. Since the truck gets cheaper as it fills, one full truck at $695 beats two quarter loads booked weeks apart. If you’ve been putting off the garage and the basement, knock them out together.

There’s also a standing 10% off for seniors and veterans on jobs over $150, if that applies to you.

Does Same-Day Service Cost More?

No, same-day and next-day service is the standard truck-tier price. We built the whole operation around speed. “Book today, gone tomorrow” isn’t a slogan, it’s how most of our Cincinnati jobs actually run, and there’s no rush fee for it.

DIY vs. Professional Junk Removal

The most common thing we hear, especially from adult kids clearing a parent’s home, is that they feel like they have to do it alone. That usually looks like 100 runs to Goodwill in the back of a Toyota Camry over several weekends. We’re a full-service haul-away, which means we don’t drop a dumpster and leave you to fill it. The team shows up, loads everything, sweeps up, and takes it away the same visit. Renting a dumpster means you still do all the lifting and the hauling to the landfill yourself. We’re the alternative to that.

Where We Work in Greater Cincinnati

We’re based at 10235 Spartan Drive in the 45215 area and cover roughly 25 miles around it year-round, a bit wider in winter. That takes in Norwood, Oakley, Corryville, East Price Hill, Loveland, Milford, West Chester, Newport, and out toward Indian Hill. And yes, we work through the winter. Snow or ice might force a reschedule if a driveway isn’t safe, but the idea that we shut down when it gets cold isn’t true.

What We Clear (Residential and Commercial)

Full-service junk removal covers furniture, appliances, and general household clutter. Beyond that, the jobs we do most are estate cleanouts, hoarding cleanouts handled with real compassion, office and commercial cleanouts, storage unit and garage cleanouts, light demolition (sheds, decks, fences, an old brick BBQ grill), and property-manager overflow hauling. Carpet removal is a common add-on. Whatever it is, all you have to do is show us what you need gone. You don’t have to explain that the couch is heavy or stuck in the basement. We’re professionals.

What Customers Say

We’ve got 96 written Google reviews, and the same themes come up over and over: fast, friendly, fair, and clean.

“Cody Campbell and his crew showed up on time, gave me a straightforward price, and had everything loaded in under an hour. They even swept up afterward. Genuinely impressed.” – Connie Morgan

“The price was super fair and was way better than other company quotes I received!” – Ciera Carey-Dennis

“The team was fast and very friendly. They worked hard and didn’t complain. They cleared out my entire home in a single day and I love that they recycle and donate what they can.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum price for junk removal in Cincinnati?

Our minimum is $135, which covers a single item like a love seat, a dresser, or a mini fridge. If it’s one thing you can’t lift or fit in your car, that’s the number.

What’s the average cost of junk removal here?

Most Cincinnati jobs land around $345, which is a quarter truck, roughly two pickup-bed loads. From there it’s $495 for a half truck and $695 for a full truck.

Do you charge by volume or by weight?

We charge by volume, meaning how much space your junk takes in the truck, not by weight. Heavy-but-normal items cost the same as light ones, and we never add fees for stairs, Freon, mattresses, or an extra crew member.

Why is junk removal cheaper with some companies than others?

The honest answer is about what’s included and what happens to your stuff, not a lower sticker price. Our 18-yard truck is bigger than the national chains’, we don’t stack surcharges, we honor the estimate even if we underguess, and we genuinely donate and recycle rather than keeping only what resells.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes, we do a free on-site walkthrough with no obligation, and you’ll know your tier before we start. For a small single item we can often sort it out quickly, but specialty pieces like pianos and hot tubs always get priced on site.
