“I started HaulAway Pro because Cincinnati deserved a junk removal team that shows up on time, prices fair, and actually cares what ends up in the landfill.”
— Cody, Founder

OUR STORY

Built by experience. Backed by
Cincinnati.

Cody is one of the co-founders of HaulAway Pro and the face you’ll likely meet on your job. He’s built this business on the belief that doing things right the first time — on time, at a fair price, and with a clean sweep afterward — is all it takes to earn a customer for life. Cody personally oversees every job and takes pride in leaving every space cleaner than he found it.

Jason is co-founder and the other half of the operation that keeps HaulAway Pro running smoothly. Whether he’s on-site hauling, coordinating the schedule, or making sure the team goes above and beyond for customers, Jason brings the same work ethic and attention to detail that the business was built on. Customers consistently call him out by name in reviews — and that says everything.

We’re a small, owner-operated team. When you hire us, you get the same person on the phone, on the truck, and on the receipt.

  • Family-friendly, background-checked crews
  • Transparent pricing, no surprise fees at the curb
  • Locally owned, locally based, locally accountable
  • Donation and recycling sorted on every single job

75%

Average diversion rate per job

STEP 01

Sort on site

Reusable items get pulled aside for donation routing the moment we walk in.

STEP 02

Drop at partners

Donatables go to Matthew 25, St. Vincent de Paul, and Habitat ReStore. Metal goes to Cohen Recycling.

STEP 03

Recycle what we can

E-waste, scrap metal, and cardboard get processed through certified Cincinnati-area recyclers.

RESPONSIBLE DISPOSAL

Most haulers dump it all.
We sort first.

Cincinnati landfills filled up faster than they had to. Our job has always felt like part of the problem, so we changed how we do it.

Every load passes through a four-step sort before anything heads to the dump. Most jobs end up diverting 50 to 80 percent of the haul from landfill, depending on what you’re throwing.

What Happens to Your Stuff?

We work hard to make sure your unwanted items find a second life instead of a landfill. Furniture, appliances, clothing, and household goods that are still in usable condition are donated to local charities and organizations right here in Cincinnati. Electronics are properly recycled. Construction debris and materials are sorted for responsible disposal.

On average, we divert up to 75% of items from every job — keeping them out of the landfill and putting them back into the community. Since we started, we’ve diverted over 200 tons of material annually. We’re proud of that number, and we’re working to make it bigger every year.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Why Responsible Disposal Matters for Cincinnati

A few facts that put the work we do in context, and explain why the donation-first approach makes a real difference in our community.

12M

Tons of furniture sent to US landfills every year

Furniture and furnishings account for 19.36 billion pounds of landfilled waste annually in the United States. Roughly 80 percent of all furniture discarded ends up in a landfill rather than being donated or recycled.

2,065

Homes furnished by New Life Furniture Bank in 2025

In 2025 alone, New Life Furniture Bank, one of our six charity partners, furnished 2,065 households in Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Dayton. Families coming out of homelessness, domestic violence, and other difficult circumstances received furniture that would otherwise have been discarded.

4.9 lbs

Waste generated per American per day

The average American generates 4.9 pounds of municipal solid waste daily, over 1,800 pounds per person annually. The US generates more waste per capita than almost any other nation. Responsible sorting and diversion at the point of collection is one of the most direct ways to reduce that impact locally.
